Mission Statement

Aberystwyth Town Academy is committed to supporting the National Player Development structure and the Coach Education Programme.

Aberystwyth Town Academy will provide a quality coaching programme for talented young footballers delivered by qualified coaches in a safe environment. It will achieve this by:-

1. Adopting a player centred approach

2. Ensuring the welfare of the player is paramount

3. Promoting codes of conduct for players, parents and coaches

4. Utilising high quality, safe facilities and equipment

5. Encouraging continuing coach education and awareness

6. Operating in an open and transparent manner

7. Adhering and complying with UEFA and FAW Academy guidelines

8. Maintaining high standards of administration

Parents will be advised to;

• Encourage their child to play by the laws of the game
• Avoid pressurising their child about winning or losing
• Support and encourage all players including the opposition
• Avoid publicly criticising their child or other players
• Accept decisions made by match officials

Many Academies do not allow parents to attend Academy matches. We do not adopt that view but parents who are unable to follow this advice will be asked not to attend Academy games or coaching sessions
